lecturer, Estabrak Hazem, of UoITC has published a research paper at the 6th International Conference on Information Technology and Network Technologies, held in Rabat, Morocco from December 11-13, 2023. The conference published research presented in Scopus-indexed proceedings of IEEE conferences.

The research focuses on the representation of objects and spaces using a three-dimensional structured point cloud. Each point contains information about location and color. The point clouds are uploaded to servers hosting a website that streams point cloud videos. These videos, consisting of millions of points, are transmitted using the HTTP/2 protocol, the latest version of the HTTP protocol. This protocol is known for its speed, resulting in higher data transmission rates and improved performance, reaching up to 175% compared to previous protocols.

Point clouds are used in applications that rely on virtual and mixed reality, such as in medical, industrial, and educational fields.
