University Faculty Member Participates in the Second International Conference of the College of Administrative Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University

Dr. Yassin Nadib Al-Sultani, a faculty member at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UOITC), participated in the Second Babylon International Scientific Conference of the College of Administrative Sciences. The conference was held under the theme: “Poverty and Sustainable Development in Iraq: Impact Cost and Response Policy.”
During the event, Dr. Al-Sultani presented a research paper titled: “The Role of Digital Financial Inclusion in Reducing Financial Exclusion in Iraq.” The study addressed the significance of digital transformation in promoting financial inclusion and narrowing economic gaps.
The conference was hosted by the College of Administrative Sciences at Al-Mustaqbal University, in collaboration with the College of Business Economics at Al-Nahrain University and the Faculty of Commerce at Mansoura University, Egypt. It featured a select group of academics and researchers who discussed key economic challenges and strategies for achieving sustainable development in Iraq.

Online Seminar on Domestic Violence as a Threat to Family and Societal Stability

The University Psychological Counseling Unit at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized an online seminar entitled “Domestic Violence: A Phenomenon Threatening Family Stability and Community Safety.”
The seminar, delivered by Assistant Lecturer Khulood Saad Mohammed, addressed the concept of domestic violence as harmful behavior occurring within the family, directed at one of its members. It takes various forms, including physical, psychological, economic, and social abuse, all of which negatively affect family stability and weaken relationships among its members.
The seminar also reviewed the most prominent forms of domestic violence, including emotional abuse such as insults and psychological pressure, enforced social isolation, surveillance and control, as well as financial and legal abuse, in addition to physical, verbal, and economic violence. It further discussed the causes of this phenomenon, which stem from multiple factors, including difficult economic conditions, psychological stress, lack of awareness and family culture, poor parenting methods, as well as internal family problems.
Moreover, the seminar highlighted the consequences of domestic violence, which include psychological effects such as anxiety and depression, physical effects such as injuries, social effects represented by family disintegration, and economic impacts manifested in reduced income and increased financial burdens.
In conclusion, the seminar emphasized the importance of reducing domestic violence by activating the role of the family in proper upbringing, strengthening the role of educational institutions in raising awareness, enhancing the role of media in public education, and stressing the importance of the state’s role in enforcing deterrent laws, in addition to the role of society in promoting values of respect and tolerance.

 

The Women’s Affairs Division organized an art exhibition of handicrafts and a charity bazaar to support children with blood disorders

This initiative was held within the framework of promoting humanitarian values and supporting community-based initiatives, coinciding with the Spring Holidays and Mother’s Day. The event took place under the patronage and in the presence of Professor Dr. Abbas Mohsen Al-Bakri, and was organized by the Women’s Affairs Division at the University of Information Technology and Communications, with broad participation from the university’s staff.

The exhibition featured a diverse range of creative and artistic works that reflected the participants’ skills in various artistic and craft fields, including poster design and awareness-raising materials, as well as textiles, clothing, and food items. The proceeds from these activities were allocated to support children suffering from blood disorders, in a step aimed at alleviating their suffering, promoting social solidarity, and embodying humanitarian values toward this vulnerable group.

This activity coincided with significant humanitarian occasions and reflects the role of the university and the Women’s Affairs Division in fostering a culture of volunteerism and encouraging active participation among staff and students in serving the community.
