UoITC Faculty Member Appointed to Scientific Committee of The Fourth Scientific Forum at Al-Mansour University College

Dr. Alaa Talal Yassin, the head of the Rehabilitation, Employment, and Follow-up Department, has been appointed as a member of the scientific committee for the fourth scientific forum on graduation projects, which was held at Al-Mansour University College in collaboration with the University of Technology and the Iraqi Association for Libraries and Information.

Dr. Alaa took on her responsibilities within the scientific committee for the Business Administration and Accounting and Banking Sciences, where she contributed to reviewing and evaluating the participating projects in this axis, supporting the enhancement of scientific projects and improving the quality of educational outcomes.

This participation reflects the university’s commitment to achieving sustainable development goals, particularly the fourth goal related to quality education and the seventeenth goal concerning building partnerships to achieve these objectives, by supporting its academic staff and encouraging them to actively engage in scientific activities at the national level.

The University Concludes the Course of Riyada Initiative

The Rehabilitation, Employment and Follow-up Division at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center, concluded a course for the Riyada Initiative, affiliated with the Office of Prime Minister.

The five-day course was held at Center No. 1 and supervised by the trainer Radwan Salem Al-Jubouri, who provided the trainees with the necessary information on project preparation plans, project management, and developing ideas that contribute to its success, as well as how to prepare feasibility studies, overcome risks, and other topics.

The Riyada initiative, launched by the Prime Minister Office, aims to build an effective environment for investing skills, attributes, and talents of youth and job seekers, to train and prepare them for the labor market through economic projects.

The University Discusses Ways to Promote Regular Migration and the Dangers of Illegal Migration

The Educational Rehabilitation and Guidance Division at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the Department of Labor and Vocational Training at the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, organized a seminar titled “Raising Awareness about Regular Migration, the Dangers of Irregular Migration, and Supporting Returning Migrants.”
The seminar, delivered by Dr. Suha Rashid Aliwi and Dunya Saad Taha from the Labor and Labor Migration Resources Center, addressed raising awareness about regular migration and the dangers of irregular migration, warning against dealing with illegal migrant smuggling gangs and human trafficking gangs, and the importance of supporting returnees from countries of immigration, whether economically or socially, and how to integrate them into Iraqi society. The seminar also emphasized the importance of building the capacity of job seekers and developing their skills through courses at vocational training centers or through self-development. The seminar concluded with several recommendations, the most important of which was the continued cooperation between the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs/Department of Labor and Vocational Training – Labor Resources and Labor Migration Center and universities to hold recurring sessions. It also recommended the development of posters outlining the risks and consequences of irregular migration, and scheduling sessions to accommodate student attendance, given the importance of the topic. This collaboration falls within the framework of achieving Sustainable Development Goal 17 on partnerships for achieving the goals.
