To Strengthen Academic Cooperation between Iraqi Universities, CBMI Welcomes Students from Al-Mustaqbal University

As part of efforts to consolidate scientific collaboration and exchange expertise in the fields of research, development, and medical technological innovation, the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at the College of Biomedical Informatics, University of Information Technology and Communications, received a delegation of students and professors from Al-Mustaqbal University in Babylon Governorate.

The visiting delegation was headed by Dr. Maytham Nabil Miqdad, the Coordinator of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems at Al-Mustaqbal University, accompanied by a group of faculty members and students.The visit aimed to explore ways to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two sides and to exchange educational and practical experiences in the field of intelligent systems and modern technologies applied in the medical sector.

The visit included a presentation of the academic curricula and research programs adopted at both universities, with a focus on advanced technologies in diagnosis and treatment using artificial intelligence. The discussions also addressed mechanisms for practical training and student skill development through the organization of joint workshops and hands-on training courses aimed at enhancing students’ technical competencies

 

For her part, Prof. Dr. Intisar Shadeed Al-Mujbeli, Dean of the College of Biomedical Informatics, welcomed the visiting delegation, affirming the university’s and the college’s readiness to provide all necessary support and facilitation to strengthen fruitful cooperation between the two sides, in a way that contributes to advancing higher education, developing the healthcare sector, and promoting digital transformation in the medical field.

Dr. Zainab Nouman Al-Qudsi, Head of the Department of Intelligent Medical Systems, also discussed with the visiting delegation the prospects of academic twinning between the two universities. She emphasized the importance of integrating research efforts to achieve distinguished scientific outcomes that contribute to advancing scientific and technological progress in the field of intelligent medical systems.

The visit also included a field tour to the college’s laboratories and departments, during which the delegation was introduced to the educational environment and practical training of the college’s students. The students from Al-Mustaqbal University also took part in a number of joint student activities that reflected the spirit of cooperation and positive interaction between the two sides.

On their part, the visiting delegation appreciated the warm reception and the efforts made by the college to support academic communication, affirming their willingness to continue cooperation in a way that achieves shared goals in advancing higher education and technological development in Iraq.

Biomedical Informatics Organizes a Tree Planting Campaign to Promote the Concept of a Sustainable Environment

As part of its efforts to instill the concept of a sustainable environment and enhance environmental awareness among students, faculty and students of the College of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a tree planting campaign. This campaign involved planting flowers and plants in the college’s corridors and gardens.

The campaign aims to increase green spaces on campus and create a healthy and attractive learning environment that reflects the university’s identity and vision in supporting sustainable development initiatives. This initiative is part of a series of volunteer activities adopted by the college to promote a culture of environmental conservation and encourage teamwork and social responsibility among students and faculty.

The college administration affirmed its commitment to supporting and continuing these activities due to their positive impact on enhancing environmental awareness and beautifying the campus, in line with the university’s vision of achieving a sustainable and integrated university environment.

A scientific visit by students of Mobile Communications and Computing Engineering Department to the Information Technology and Communications Research Center

The Department of Mobile Communications and Computing Engineering at the College of Engineering, University of Information Technology and Communications, organized a field scientific visit for fourth-year students to the Information Technology and Communications Research Center of the Scientific Research Commission, as part of the real-life experiences program adopted at the College.
The visit aimed to link the academic aspect with the applied aspect and to introduce students to specialized research environments and development projects in the information technology and communications sector, thereby enhancing their practical skills and qualifying them to integrate into the labor market.
During the visit, the students were briefed on the research work systems, laboratories and advanced equipment within the center, and learned about the research programs, development projects and technical services it provides, in addition to discussing modern trends in communications, computing and information technology and the requirements of the current and future labor market, and this contributed to raising students’ awareness, developing research thinking skills and enhancing their confidence in their ability to innovate.
