UoITC’s Lecturer Represents Iraq at Arab Procedures Lab with the Film “Ain Hura”

In an initiative that reflects the University of Information Technology and Communications’ excellence in supporting national talents across various fields, the lecturer Aws Jabbar Al-Lami, from the College of Engineering, represented Iraq at the Arab Producers Lab (APL) 2025, held in Amman, Jordan, in partnership between the European Audiovisual Entrepreneurs (EAVE) organization and the Royal Film Commission – Jordan (RFC).

This lab is considered one of the most prominent Arab training platforms for developing promising film projects, as it brought together a distinguished group of Arab producers and creators to exchange expertise and receive training on the latest mechanisms of cinematic co-production.

The lecturer participated in the lab as the producer of the feature film “Ayin Hara” (Evil Eye), produced by Frame Vision and directed by Yasser Karim. Throughout the program, he took part in a series of intensive training sessions with international experts that focused on co-production financing, sales and distribution strategies, and script development — all aimed at preparing the project for production and for competition in global markets.

Al-Lami emphasized that the lab provided him with a valuable opportunity to gain strategic experience in co-production and financing, benefit from international experts, and strengthen international ties by establishing a network of collaborations with both Arab and foreign production and funding organizations.

The Presidency of the University of Information Technology and Communications expressed its pride in Mr. Al-Lami’s participation, emphasizing that this achievement reflects the competence of the university’s academic staff and their vital role in representing Iraq in various Arab and international cultural and artistic forums.
