UoITC Participates in the Fourth Scientific Innovations Exhibition

The University of Information Technology and Communications, represented by the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Division at the university and the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics, participated in the Fourth Scientific Innovations Exhibition held in Baghdad at the University of Baghdad/College of Sciences/Al-Idrisi Hall, from November 26 to 27, 2025.

This participation came at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports / Directorate of Scientific Welfare, where the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics showcased a number of projects by participating students.

The university’s pavilion included a display of several projects that address various topics in the field of innovation and the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

The university’s pavilion was also visited by several government officials, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubriq, accompanied by the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University of Baghdad. They praised the efforts and scientific innovations of the students. The Minister also directed that these innovations be tested in selected sites within the ministry with the aim of benefiting from them in the future.

UoITC Organizes a Field Visit to a Kindergarten on the Occasion of the World Children’s Day

The Human Rights Division, in collaboration with the Department of Media and Government Communication at the University of Information Technology and Communications (UoITC) organized a field visit to one of Baghdad’s kindergartens.

The initiative was part of an extracurricular activity aligned with the university’s annual celebration of the World Children’s Day, which reaffirms the importance of protecting childhood and ensuring a safe environment for children’s growth and well-being.

The visit included recreational and educational activities designed to introduce children to their basic rights in a simple and age-appropriate manner. It also featured an awareness lecture emphasizing key concepts such as protection, nutrition, non-discrimination, and respect for others.

The university team actively participated in interactive activities with the children, including drawing, educational games, and storytelling sessions focusing on themes of justice and equality.

This initiative is part of the university’s broader program to promote human rights awareness and foster a culture of respect for children within the community, while also strengthening cooperation with educational institutions and developing joint programs that contribute to building a generation aware of its rights and responsibilities.

An Awareness Seminar for First-Year Students held by the College of Engineering as Part of Anti-Drug Week

As part of the Iraqi Anti-Drug Week activities, the Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance Unit at the College of Engineering at UoITC organized an awareness seminar for first-year students titled “Combating Drugs: Harms, Challenges, and Treatment Methods.”

The seminar was delivered by lecturer Maha Khalil Ibrahim, who discussed the health and social harms of drug abuse and explained key preventive approaches, in addition to presenting the approved treatment mechanisms used in dealing with addiction cases.

This seminar comes within the college’s efforts to enhance awareness among students and reaffirm its role in supporting educational programs and preventive initiatives that contribute to protecting the university community from this dangerous phenomenon.
