Medical Informatics College Organizes Recreational Trip and Launches Humanitarian Initiative to Bring Joy to Orphaned Children

As part of its humanitarian and social programs, the College of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized a recreational trip to Al-Zawraa Parks and Gardens, with the participation of several faculty members and students from various academic levels.

The event also saw the launch of a humanitarian initiative to care for orphaned children. The college took a group of them on the trip to bring joy to their lives, and students and faculty presented them with gifts and clothing as part of an initiative that embodied the spirit of volunteerism and social responsibility embraced by the college.

The trip also featured a number of purposeful activities, most notably an orientation day for first-year students, designed to foster camaraderie and communication among students, their peers, and professors in a positive and interactive atmosphere.

The College of Engineering organizes an awareness seminar on negative influences and the role of the family in reducing them

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Communications organized an awareness seminar entitled “Negative Influences and the Role of the Family in reducing Them” presented by the teacher T.A. Maha Ismail.

The seminar addressed the most prominent negative impacts that individuals may face within their social environment, stressing the importance of the family role in monitoring, containing, and providing psychological and behavioral support, especially with the growing pressures and current challenges.

The lecture also reviewed ways to enhance communication within the family and develop correct parenting methods that enable conscious and responsible dealing with external influences.

UoITC Participates in the Fourth Scientific Innovations Exhibition

The University of Information Technology and Communications, represented by the Technology Incubator and Ecosystem Division at the university and the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics, participated in the Fourth Scientific Innovations Exhibition held in Baghdad at the University of Baghdad/College of Sciences/Al-Idrisi Hall, from November 26 to 27, 2025.

This participation came at the invitation of the Ministry of Youth and Sports / Directorate of Scientific Welfare, where the Technology Incubator Unit at the College of Biomedical Informatics showcased a number of projects by participating students.

The university’s pavilion included a display of several projects that address various topics in the field of innovation and the use of artificial intelligence technologies.

The university’s pavilion was also visited by several government officials, including the Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mubriq, accompanied by the Administrative Assistant to the President of the University of Baghdad. They praised the efforts and scientific innovations of the students. The Minister also directed that these innovations be tested in selected sites within the ministry with the aim of benefiting from them in the future.
