Workshop at the University on Combating Electronic Financial Fraud

The College of Business Informatics at the University of Information Technology and Communications, in cooperation with the Financial Intelligence Directorate of the National Security Agency, organized a workshop entitled “Combating Financial Fraud Using Electronic Payment Cards”. The workshop came as part of the national campaign launched by the National Security Agency under the slogan “Your Card is Your Security”, intending to raise awareness of financial fraud crimes and reduce fraud operations targeting citizens and employees. The workshop was presented by Professor Ali Karim Ali, where the types of electronic payment cards and the most prominent risks facing their users were reviewed, such as data theft, fraud via phone and messages, and the use of unsecured public Wi-Fi networks. Protection tips were also provided, such as verifying links via the “Aman” platform, not sharing personal data, avoiding giving the CVV code, using virtual cards, checking ATMs, and monitoring the card when used in public places.
